The drama on all fronts simply appears to be wild cases of childish ideals. i.e "I'm not them", or "They're not someone else who agrees with me or my questionable ideals aren't allowed anymore". Never seen that one before. *sigh*
There are interesting and worthwhile people of course, but a lot are wrapped up in getting the info from their 'accepted' sources and other sources be damned.
News stories are blown out of proportion as well. Comments that would be ignored because they're expected by that person are suddenly national news. Ah well, the tide will rise and will fall.
Most people seem to think that a few chats become lifetime friendships or some shit because reasons. I've a few friends online, but even they are casual friends. People get wrapped up in drama which has no relation to them, beyond fleeting talks. Maybe I'm old and grumpy, but I see people moan about drama, and how their data or friend's information got published more and more. It's simply, don't share your info to anyone online. The extent of knowledge I give and ask for, is for convenience and trying to avoid social faux pas. I know a some people's issues but outside that, I don't give a crap about what a person does, what they look like, their kinks, what's wrong with them, etc. Makes no diff to me. If I meet someone, it's handy to now what someone generally looks like, but beyond that nadda.
The phases of this seem to come and go in roughly 4 years. Maybe it's people are simply getting older or relationships falter.. I dunno. But there is a rise and fall and it seems to surprise those with a sad regularity.
Or I could just be full of shit.
