Let's get this bastard started.
I hope that in 2019 we can all forget the things from the previous year and move on to those things that actually affect our future in our cities and town and neighbourhoods and fuel bill.
I trust that in 2019 that people have grown up a little and realise that not giving a shit about the thoughts and opinions of other people can have real-world consequences. For example, losing financial support from multiple places. The saying of "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" may ring true, but if you lose a comfy life style because you didn't care, that's on you.
I trust that in 2019, that those people loved and cared about, and even those on a more periphery area are still in thoughts by people who assume those people don't care.. But they really do.
In 2019, I hope that online views and finances are not the key to online 'success'. Being able to talk, for better or worse, with people is what I really value about online communication. Cutting down hours or days of travel time into milliseconds of network delay should be celebrated and valued. Over the years people have said to me that inline friends aren't real. I disagree with that unless you are actively pretending to be someone else. Then you're just a basic asshole.
In 2019, I hope that distances are cut even further, with people getting up and meeting people they only know via keyboard. I don't mean meeting online celebs they'll never hangout with. I mean people they can hop in a taxi or a holiday flight, and kick back with a drink or pizza with pineapple on top.
I hope in the coming year, I hope there is less 'conversation' with memes and people actually conversing.
I can't recall all my fuckups, so will just put them in a box of "I'm sorry for all the times I twinged feelings. I'm no saint, but do try to avoid stepping on toes inadvertently. If things were done or said wrong, that's on me." I try, probably to everyone's detriment, to be who I am in person. If that means not telling something about my person, there's usually a valid reason beyond just being obtuse.
I hope the year after bexit, the UK is still in one piece and the politicians have grown up rather than continuing the backbiting model of today. I hope the SNP fucks off by itself into the distant past where it seems desperate to drag the rest of Scotland. Let's look forward, and not go with the cheapest contracts - you know, functional schools are a good thing.
I hope that antivaxxers are rounded up in a large hermetically sealed area and introduced to what their view point really does to people.
That all said, I'm losing patience with online convos.. Well, not really patience as that feels more linear and one sided than I really mean. I mean more of everyone taking part of screwing convos up based on assumptions. I dunno. Aside from half a dozen people, this year I think I'm going to try and meander back to music, writing, reading, and generally not giving a shit about online problems since the only thing I really need to worry about are bills and generally taking care of my dog. Everything else is out of my grasp.
See you all on the flip side and hope that 2019 brings all the things time rarely seen in the last few years.
